USA Weightlifting National Championships Run June 20-28 at Ed Robson Arena

COLORADO SPRINGS — The USA Weightlifting National Championships return to Colorado Springs June 20-28 where over 1,500 athletes will take the platform inside Colorado College’s Ed Robson Arena. The National Championships open June 20-22 with youth national competition, then junior & U25 competition runs June 23-25, and the week concludes June 26-28 with senior national competition. The registered athlete list includes three Olympians in Paris medalists Olivia Reeves and Hampton Morris and Tokyo Olympian Caine Wilkes. Additionally, numerous athletes in contention to feature on the 2026 Senior World Championships team will compete during Nationals. Spectators can purchase tickets online at usaweightlifting.org/tickets or in-person at the USAW registration desk at the venue. The National Championships will stream at maestro.tv/usaw.

This is the third year USAW is hosting the National Championships at Ed Robson Arena following the 2023 and 2025 competitions. In 2023, 1,703 competitors competed, and 1,546 took the stage in 2025. Last year’s participants saw the return of Rio 2016 Olympian Jenny Arthur Vardanian to a national stage for the first time since 2020 in a performance where she went 6-for-6 and lifted numbers (108kg snatch, 135kg clean & jerk) in line with her career bests. Morris, who earned bronze in the 61kg weight class at the Paris Olympics, also went 6-for-6 last year with top lifts of 137kg in the snatch and 187kg in the clean & jerk. Thirty-three American records were broken at last year’s championship as well.


As mentioned, numerous athletes hoping to represent the United States at the Senior World Championships this fall in Ningbo, China, are scheduled to take the stage in Colorado Springs. Nationals is the penultimate qualifier for the 16-person team (eight men, eight women), and 10 of the current top-16 are set to compete:

  • Miranda Ulrey: June 23, 4:00 p.m. MT on the blue platform in the 58kg weight class
  • Gabe Chhum: June 26, 2:00 p.m. on the blue platform in the 65kg weight class
  • Hampton Morris: June 26, 2:00 p.m. on the blue platform in the 71kg weight class
  • D. Irizarry: June 26, 4:00 p.m. on the red platform in the 53kg weight class
  • Katie Estep, Sophie Shaft: June 26, 5:40 p.m. on the red platform in the 63kg weight class
  • Ryan Grimsland: June 26, 5:40 p.m. on the blue platform in the 79kg weight class
  • Olivia Reeves: June 27, 4:00 p.m. on the blue platform in the 77kg weight class
  • Ella Nicholson, Katie Witte: June 27, 5:40 p.m. on the red platform in the 86kg weight class
  • Caine Wilkes: June 28, 2:00 p.m. on the red platform in the +110kg weight class
