2026–2028 Masters Council Election Results Released

COLORADO SPRINGS—USA Weightlifting today announced the results of the 2026 Masters Council elections. The newly elected Council will serve a two-year term beginning June 1, 2026.

The following individuals were elected to serve on the Masters Council:

Athlete Representatives

  • Aimee Everett (35 - 49) – Terrebonne, OR
  • Gwen Chamberlin (50 – 64) – Chicago, IL
  • Holly Arrow (65+) – Brownsville, OR

At-Large Representatives

  • Tom Sroka – Peyton, CO
  • Bob Takano – Simi Valley, CA
  • Travis Cooper – Saunderstown, RI
  • Suzy Sanchez - Colorado Springs, CO 

Everett, Chamberlin, Sroka, and Takano were each elected to second terms on the Council. They will be joined by Arrow, a multi-time Masters National and Masters World Champion, Cooper who previously served two terms as an elite athlete representative on the USAW Board of Directors, and Sanchez, a former member of the USAW HQ team who served in the role of Director of Culture, Community & Outreach.


“We want to thank our Masters community for the strong turnout throughout this election process, both from the number of individuals willing to volunteer their time and from those who participated by voting,” said JP Nicoletta, Chief Operating Officer of USA Weightlifting. “We’re excited about the scope of experience, personal investment, and passion for the sport that all seven members of this Council bring to the table as they help support and shape the future of Masters weightlifting within USAW.”


USA Weightlifting also extends its appreciation to outgoing Council members Carlos Hernandez, Mira Kwon, and Melissa Doherty for their service and contributions to the Masters community during their terms on the Council.
