COLORADO SPRINGS - Will Easley has been elected to the final position on USA Weightlifting’s Athletes’ Advisory Commission (AAC).

Will Easley has competed on the international and national stage several times. He swept silver at the 2021 Junior Pan American Championships, competed on two Junior Worlds teams, and lifted at the 2020 Junior Pan American Championships. He has earned gold medals at USA Youth and Junior National Championships, and has had multiple podium finishes at Senior Nationals, University Nationals, and American Open Finals.

Originally from Aurora, Ill., Easley is attending graduate school at East Tennessee State University and working towards his master’s degree in Healthcare Administration while on scholarship for weightlifting.

Easley’s interest in the AAC role is rooted in his desire to represent the voices of athletes across the country in their pursuit of balancing athletic excellence with the challenges of academic, professional, and familial obligations.

“Being in weightlifting for a while, I've definitely seen a gap in understanding between some of the decisions made by USA Weightlifting and some of the opinions held by athletes,” Easley said. “Just through my own experience, I want to be able to bridge that gap for them and find a way for there to be more cohesive understanding between the two parties.”

His goal is to use his experience to create a more unified community with the welfare of athletes as the foundation for decision making.
