Update on the 2022 IWF Youth World Championships

After multiple administrative grievances filed by different parties with competing perspectives on the qualification period for the 2022 IWF Youth World Championships, the Judicial Committee panel has determined the ranking period will be:
September – December 2021 Only.
You can view the reasoned decision of the USA Weightlifting Judicial Committee at this link.
The panel did not adjudicate any matters pertaining to the Men’s team, therefore with less than 10 athletes qualified under any of the scenarios contested, USA Weightlifting will enter any male athlete who makes the team under any of the scenarios previously announced.
USA Weightlifting recognizes the significant stress this issue has placed on youth athletes, their coaches and their families. This is not the goal of USA Weightlifting, and we apologize for the experience throughout the different decisions made in this process. We hope to regain your trust as we go forward, as we have before, with consistent procedures and a better process to avoid mistakes that occurred during this period of time.
