USA Weightlifting Hosts Junior Development Camp for 24 Promising Lifters, July 17-23 at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center

Twenty-three young lifters made the trip to the mountains for a Junior Development Camp, July 17-23 at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. The camp gives junior and development stipend level athletes the unique opportunity to train in Olympic City USA at the home for Team USA. USA Weightlifting Senior Director of Sport Performance Mike Gattone and staff coach Sean Rigsby are leading sessions at the world class facility.

“We are grateful for the support of the USOPC,” said Lorene Halford, USA Weightlifting’s Director of National Team Operations. “Their commitment to our high performance program and the sport of weightlifting, including funding this camp, is critical to the success of Team USA.”

2023 IWF Youth World Champion Ella Nicholson, 2022 World Championships bronze medalist Olivia Reeves and 2022 Senior World Team member Gabe Chhum are among the 24 athletes who made the trip to Colorado Springs for this week's camp.

Personal coaches Tim Davis, Trey Vaughan, Kyle Fields, Jordon Garrison, Crystal McCullough, Jeremy Warner, Jake Pudenz, and Ray Harkness will accompany the athletes and staff coaches at the training camp in Colorado Springs.
