Colorado Springs, Colorado (August 21, 2020) -- USA Weightlifting is pleased to announce the lineup of 2021 National events, bringing top athletes of America’s premier strength sport to cities across the United States and Western Canada.

New for the 2021-2024 quadrennial, USA Weightlifting will hold a Nike National Championships Week powered by Rogue Fitness where the Youth, Junior, Under 25 and Senior National Champions will be crowned. Fans and athletes alike will see the excitement build across over a week of competition, culminating in the overall National Championships remaining on two platforms at the end of the week.

Also new for the 2021-2024 quadrennial, USA Weightlifting, in partnership with Canadian Weightlifting Fédération Haltérophile Canadienne (CWFHC) will expand the American Open Series into the Nike North American Open Series powered by Rogue Fitness and hold the first USA Weightlifting-sanctioned National Event in Canada.

The 2021 National Events lineup will be:

With the hope that impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic will ease in the future, USA Weightlifting will continue to work on contingency plans for the above events. In line with current practices, any decisions about the viability of these in-person events will be decided no later than 8 weeks prior to the scheduled date of the competition.

Due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the new National University Qualification procedures described here will not be in effect for the 2021 National University Championships. Qualification for the 2021 National University Championships will follow previous competitions via posting a valid qualifying total. The new qualification procedures will go into effect in the Fall of 2021 for the 2022 National University Championships
