COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (April 1, 2021) – For the third consecutive year, USA Weightlifting is searching for the strongest students in America as it launches the High School Throwdown, an online video-based competition.
High school students between the ages of 13 and 18 can upload videos of their best bench press, squat and power or full clean at www.highschoolthrowdown.com. USA Weightlifting scouts will use the submissions to identify new weightlifting talent.
“This is one of the most exciting events on our calendar each year. We get to meet new athletes and give them an opportunity to show us what they can do,” Suzy Sanchez, USA Weightlifting’s Director of Culture Community and Outreach said. “There are more on just bragging rights on the line. We are grateful to our USA Weightlifting sponsors for supporting our mission of promoting a diverse and inclusive weightlifting community united under the barbell.”
The competition runs April 1-30 and is free to participate.
USA Weightlifting sponsors are offering prize packages to the top lifters as well as the school named the strongest in America.
