Weightlifting Debuts at Gymreapers Wodapalooza Miami Beach in 2026

MIAMI BEACH, Florida - After taking the stage at TYR Wodapalooza SoCal in 2025, Olympic weightlifting is set to drop platforms on the premier Functional Fitness Festival’s original sand: Miami Beach. The event runs March 12-15, 2026, and weightlifting will take place March 14-15. With the continued partnership between USA Weightlifting and Gymreapers Wodapalooza, the goal is simple: bring the sport’s most explosive lifts into the heart of one of fitness’ most electric environments.

How It Works

The event will span multiple days and feature four platforms operating simultaneously, with one athlete lifting on each. Every platform will be staffed by certified USAW referees and adhere to national-level competition standards.

Each athlete will be given 35 minutes to take their platform and complete both their best snatch and their best clean and jerk. There is no limit on attempts, and athletes will be allowed to add or subtract weight as they please. Athletes will be responsible for loading their bar, and can have friends or coaches there to help. Referees will log results on site and submit them directly to the competition manager.

Registration is limited to 85 total athletes. All participants must register through the USA Weightlifting website. A valid USAW membership is required. On-site sign-ups will also be available for those ready to compete on the day of the event.

Qualifying Opportunity

Although this is not a traditional USAW event format, athletes will be able to earn qualifying totals toward USA Weightlifting Nationals. This is similar to the same opportunity being available through online qualifiers. This is a real opportunity to make progress in the USAW competitive season while lifting in a dynamic environment.

Why It Matters

Olympic weightlifting is a pillar of CrossFit and functional fitness, but it doesn’t always get this platform. Gymreapers Wodapalooza Miami gives lifters the crowd and visibility they deserve, and gives the WZA community a new way to engage with a sport that many already train in but have never seen in this form.
