In our continuing efforts to fulfill our mission of supporting, promoting and educating a diverse and inclusive Weightlifting community, the USA Weightlifting Board of Directors approved an Athlete Protest Policy and Fan Code of Conduct governing behavior at USA Weightlifting-sanctioned events.

USA Weightlifting believes that every athlete should be able to advocate for social and racial justice. The Athlete Protest Policy states any athlete who chooses to use their competition presence to protest may do so peacefully and within the confines of the rules of the sport, so long as the protest does not interfere with other participants, including but not limited to other athletes and spectators, or the competition generally.

The full Athlete Protest Policy can be found here.

The USA Weightlifting Fan Code of Conduct, designed for non-USA Weightlifting members, lays out ground rules and expectations of fans at USA Weightlifting-sanctioned events to foster a welcoming environment to weightlifting athletes, coaches and fellow fans. USA Weightlifting members are still bound by USA Weightlifting's Member Code of Conduct and other policies.

The Fan Code of Conduct can be found here.
