Ziss, Rose Open Youth World Championships for USA

LIMA, Peru - Michael Ziss and Sebastian Rose both competed at 55 kg Wednesday to open the 2024 IWF Youth World Championships for Team USA. Ziss snatched 90 kg and lifted 110 kg in the clean and jerk for a 200 kg total, a trio of personal records, and an eighth place finish. Rose lifted 83 kg (PR) in the snatch and 103 kg in the clean and jerk for a 186 kg total (PR) and 12th place finish. Both lifters were competing in their first international competitions.

The Youth World Championships continue Thursday, May 23 with Brynn Cupp and Amelia Phillips lifting in the 49 kg B session (11:30 a.m. ET), followed by Jade Morales in the 55 kg A session (7:00 p.m. ET). The live stream and live scoreboard can be followed here.
